Despite the extreme climate of the tropical savanna, this biome faces many challenges and contains many things to do during every season.
One major ecological issue that this biome faces is loss of land. Each year, herders bring animals to the savanna to feed on its plentiful grasses. The goats and cattle stay in one place, eating all of the grass there. Eventually, the vegetation is gone and this land area is lost to the Sahara Desert. This problem could be fixed easily if these cattle herders moved their animals throughout the savanna, rather than in one spot. This way, some vegetation will remain in each space and the cattle and goats still get their food.
The Tropical Savanna is an excellent vacation spot. At any time of the year, you can do things like go on a safari, view tribal village life, go bird watching or try rafting. Animals in the savanna cannot be found anywhere else. Animals like gazelles, giraffes, zebras, and elephants can be seen here. Elephant rides are offered by some small businesses and you can also take tours to meet some of these animals. Every living thing in this biome has an adaptation for the warm weather. Animals must fight over water and food sources to survive. These fights can become very interesting and are often highlighted in nature documentaries. Witnessing things like these in person are even more spectacular.
What are you waiting for? The Tropical Savanna is an adventure waiting to happen! Between rafting, safaris, and bird watching, the savanna is always in season. Visit soon!
